Munnar – A Vacation Destination

Munnar – A Vacation Destination

Munnar is one of the most renowned hill stations of Kerala and was once a getaway to escape from the scorching heat of summers for the British rulers in India (it still is for the Indian and foreign tourists). Three mountain streams merge here viz Kundala, Mudrapuzha and Nallathani which almost make it a heaven for nature buffs. The lofty Western Ghats nestle within themselves the tea plantations of Munnar, meandering lanes and the best of tourism facilities so, no reason for Munnar to go unnoticed on the tourist map.

Munnar Vacation Options

Munnar offers several vacation options as it is aptly situated at the confluence of three rivers and is near to Anaimudi (2694 meters) which is the highest mountain peak in the South India. The landscape views that you get here are among the best possible ones. If you are interested in nature walks then nothing like it as then you’ll be able to explore the surroundings and the nearby tribal villages where people are extremely warm and friendly.

You can experience their traditional lifestyles and homes to get that unforgettable experience. Never ever miss a chance to visit a high altitude tea plantation (Munnar tea gardens are among the highest in the world). You can also go to Devikulam, which is an attractive hill station having the Sita Devi Lake with its beautiful surroundings. Other places that are worth a visit are Muttupetty Dam, Slot Sbobet, Echo Point, Rajamala and Marayur.
